Free outdoor event with ACMF and the Howard Burns Quartet. Made possible in part thanks to the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Harpers Ferry Park Association, and the Corporation of Harpers Ferry.
Join us for this one-hour sunset concert on the lawn of historic Storer College in Harpers Ferry for the music of jazz legend and Storer College alumnus, Don Redman. Back by popular request, ACMF String musicians are delighted to collaborate with the Howard Burns jazz quartet. Featuring original arrangements by ACMF artist Chris Jusell of some of Redman’s most celebrated jazz works.

This is the second concert in our Coffee Concerts in Shepherdstown Series, new for 2025! This short, sweet and powerful performance will feature British baritone Thomas Coltman joining us again this year from his native Wales as well as flautist Sinéad Farrell in performances of Bach’s celebrated cantata no. 82 “Ich habe Genug” and the Badiniere from Bach’s Suite in B-minor. We couldn’t think of a more fitting title to perform early in the dat on a Sunday than “Ich habe Genug” literally translates to “I have enough”, and thought it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the great joys of music nestled in the community of Shepherdstown.

This hour-long concert of chamber masterpieces, both classic and contemporary have been chosen for their evocative imagery. These sonic landscapes will be amplified by powerful artwork displayed on the big screen, expertly curated by Jordan Burke. Arrive early to hear Jordan's insightful pre-concert talk, exploring the visual selections and their connection to the music.
Make an evening of it! Purhase tickets to Dinner at Bistro 112 (SALES CLOSED) and the 8:30pm performance of "Film & Music" featuring an original score set to the 1911 Italian silent film "L'Inferno".

Pop-Up Concert in Harpers Ferry

A special pop-up event in historic downtown Harpers Ferry (Time and exact location TBD; Informal event, approx. 20 mins, no seating / no tickets or RSVPs)
Inspired by the story of John Brown, composer Ailbhe McDonagh wrote her first string quartet, “Appalachian” as a commission for the first ever season of ACMF back in 2021. Concert is free and open to the public. Park visitors will pay entrance fee for Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; park at the Visitor's Center (171 Shoreline Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV) and ride the shuttle to downtown Harpers Ferry.
