Welcome to the 2026 Appalachian Chamber Music Festival,
two weeks of performances across Jefferson County and beyond! Our theme this summer is Metamorphosis, celebrating change through the evolution of sound, spirit and craft. At the heart of our programme is Richard Strauss’s hauntingly beautiful Metamorphosen, a work of deep reflection and rebirth, paired with the highly anticipated world premiere of a new bass quintet, by Liliya Ugay, commissioned for this festival season. We invite you to experience music with us from the elegance of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, to the innovation of Gershwin’s “I Got Rhythm”, and a host of music in between that shifts through time, culture, and emotion.
Whether you’ve never been to a live music performance of any sort, or you’re a seasoned concert-goer, we have something for you! ACMF weaves world-class musical performances into the very fabric of the community through our unique approach to performance which prioritizes connection through exhilarating, edge-of-your-seat performances. Start your mornings with our Coffee Concert Series, an intimate collaboration with local favorites like Bolivar Bread Bakery and Epigram Coffee, or join us for our Wine and Music Series, where the metamorphosis of the grape is mirrored in the glass and on the stage. Free concerts for the community are at the heart of the festival with our special free community concert on the Storer College lawn, part of the Harpers Ferry National Park featuring the Howard Burns Quartet, and the addition of our Porch Concert series, where music and musicians come to the very front door of the community.
ACMF brings music to some of the most characterful and charming venues in Jefferson County, Purcellville, Berryville and Winchester. Whether you love hearing music in the Train Station at Shepherdstown, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Storer College Green in Harpers Ferry, or love the majesty of Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town, ACMF is never far away and always ready to make music for you.
