ACMF musicians head to Epigram Coffee in Historic Harpers Ferry to perform a selection of music by the Danish String Quartet - the perfect way to blend classical music with the feelings of nature and heritage.

Strings Camp Masterclasses

“I Got Rhythm” - The Music of Gershwin and Redman

In partnership with the National Park Service, we celebrate America250 through the music of two American icons, Don Redman and George Gershwin. Our ACMF festival musicians collaborate with the Howard Burns Quartet for a fusion of jazz and strings, in the historic setting of Storer College Green, Harpers Ferry.


This is a free concert and will last approximately 50-75 minutes. Please reserve your space by securing a ticket.

Coffee Concerts at Shepherdstown

You’ll be treated to solo works of Bach and  composers inspired by him throughout the centuries, performed by our dazzling ACMF 2026 musicians.  With coffee and a sweet treat from our friends at Bolivar Bread Bakery and Epigram Coffee, this one-hour program is the perfect way to start off a summery Saturday morning with a spring in your step and a unique opportunity to hear the solo artistry of the collaborators you’ll enjoy throughout the festival.

Art & Music features masterpieces that have been chosen for their evocative imagery, and will include the world premiere of our 2026 commissioned composer, Liliya Ugay. This 70-minute program will be amplified by powerfully curated artwork displayed on the big screen, expertly selected by Dr. Jordan Burke. Join our Pre-Concert Talk to hear Jordan’s insights exploring the visual selections and their connection to the music, and more about the compositional process with our 2026 commissioned composer, Lilya Ugay.


To enhance your evening, choose a special prix-fixe, three-course dinner at Bistro 112, available exclusively for ACMF patrons before the show.

Evolving Sounds

ACMF is delighted to return to Shenandoah Conservatory’s Goodson Chapel in a joint concert with conservatory faculty, Garrick Zoeter (clarinet) and Geoffrey Pilkington (horn).


This lush and dynamic program explores the way composers from the past two centuries have expanded and evolved traditional groupings of instruments to create magical, groundbreaking sound-worlds. 


This event will last approximately 90-120 minutes.

Light and Darkness: Schubert’s Death and the Maiden

Experience metamorphosis through music at the beloved Barns of Rose Hill. The program features the US Premiere of Natalie Klouda's Alma Rosé, Max Richter's cinematic On the Nature of Daylight, and the returning Vaughan-Williams Piano Quintet. The evening culminates with Schubert's Death and the Maiden — a masterpiece exploring the ultimate metamorphosis of the human spirit — performed in Gustav Mahler's celebrated expanded arrangement for string ensemble.

At the heart of our festival theme is Richard Strauss's Metamorphosen — a profound meditation on reflection and rebirth. The program opens with Kenji Bunch's The Still Small Voice before moving into Strauss's powerful work. The second half features Mahler's luminous Adagietto from his 5th Symphony, arranged for string quintet by ACMF artist Suliman Tekalli, followed by Schubert's Death and the Maiden in Mahler's own arrangement for string ensemble — a moving and unforgettable close to an extraordinary evening.

At the charming Camp Hill-Wesley Church, we bring together the season’s most powerful moments: from the second performance of Liliya Ugay’s commissioned work to the sweeping grandeur of the Brahms Sextet and Strauss’s Metamorphosen. It is a celebration of the 'Metamorphosis' theme, showcasing our artists and the music that has defined our summer.

Festival Finale

We close our 2026 season with a kaleidoscopic celebration at the historic and beloved Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town. This 75 minute finale brings together our entire string artist roster for a program that spans centuries and styles—from the grace of Mozart to the modern brilliance of Bacewicz and the premiere of Alex Weiser’s Airs of Awe and Wonder, featuring Sam Suggs, bass. Join us as we reflect on two weeks of change, connection, and exhilarating music, ending on a high note with selections from our ACMF festival tradition: Selections from Danish String Quartet’s “Woodworks” and “Last Leaf” albums.
