Jason Whitaker is an arts leader, performer, and communications professional committed to advancing the arts in communities and public life. His career spans theatre, film, media production, nonprofit leadership, and cultural programming.


Jason holds a Master of Science in Performing Arts Leadership and Management from Shenandoah University and a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Theatre from Shepherd University. Throughout his career, he has developed programs and partnerships that expand access to the arts, foster community engagement, and support the long-term sustainability of cultural organizations. His work has included public programming, arts advocacy, festival and event production, and initiatives that connect artists, audiences, and communities.


A trained performer and improviser, Jason has worked in theatre, SAG film productions, and media projects for government agencies and national television networks, including the History Channel and Investigation Discovery. He completed improvisation training through the Upright Citizens Brigade Training Center, Unified Scene Theater, and DC Improv, building expertise in collaborative storytelling and audience engagement.


Jason is a U.S. Air Force combat veteran with post-military professional experience in technology and cybersecurity, bringing a distinctive combination of operational expertise, public service, and artistic perspective to his leadership. Whether working with nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, government agencies, or community partners, he is dedicated to helping artists and organizations build meaningful connections and achieve lasting cultural impact through innovation, advocacy, and strategic growth.
